So now that a year has gone by, we'll update this.
Last year stuff happened. This year more stuff will happen. If you want to know about said stuff go to blamegameband.com or our myspace page.
We have shows coming up. Hopefully an EP as well.
Listen to Phill Niblock. Nobody does drone better.
So we played two colleges in two days. Two fairly prestigious colleges at that. I guess our mathematical rock prowess got us into GA Tech on Friday night with Circle Takes the Square and I Would Set Myself on Fire For You. It was a good show. We haven't been to Under the Couch in years. I think the last time we played there was with Milemarker and Monochrome. So yeah it's been quite a while. The place was packed with kids and the show had the aforementioned bands so it quite satisfying.
I guess Alex's ties to protesting Yerkes Primate Center at Emory and the fact all of us are against animal testing and the fact we are poor struck at chord with the Emory crowd cause they asked us to play with Elf Power, Untied States and Suitcases this afternoon. The kids that run WMRE are way way awesome!! Not only did they give us the opportunity to play a free show on Emory's campus but they also gave us food and then paid us on top of that. GEEZ!! So yeah the show was similarly awesome. Suitcases brought the noise. Literally. (I think they left the funk at home) Untied States rocked it like only states that are unied could do. Then Elf Power....well the other bands were good.
One weekend two colleges damn. It was like being on tour but you got to sleep in your own bed. If only tour was that nice. Speaking of check out (nice segway huh?) our plans for shows and tours.
until next time....
hey everybody,
it's been a while since we've had an update. so this is it. we played some shows. we wrote some songs. (damn good ones too) george has a break from school so....tour.
this is the proposed route. any help would be greatly appreciated since it's been a while since the last tour. (too long actually)
january 2 - dc
january 3 - boston, nyc, providence, etc...
january 4 - boston, nyc, providence, etc...
january 5 - boston, nyc, providence, etc...
january 6 - boston, nyc, providence, etc...
january 7 - boston, nyc, providence, etc...
january 8 - charlotte, nc
january 9 - charleston, sc
we've pretty much written the new album. the only problem is that it's not an album until it's recorded and put into some sort of an order. that requires mass quantities of cash which we do not have at the moment. donations are being accepted. :)
later.
The show the other night went really well. Do Make Say Think was quite spectacular and they were quite good guys as well. Hopefully we shall meet again sometime possibly Canada. This was probably the biggest audience we've played in front of and it was an enthusiastic one. There were the usual friends in the crowd but a large majority we did not recognize. Playing a local show sometimes that's intimidating. But they were very excited which only helped us play better. Plus we talked to someone about putting out the vinyl for our next record. Hopefully we'll be recording that in the spring time.
Long story short: if you see Do Make Say Think coming near your town, go see them....the show was great....the people at the show were unusually great...a great evening.
over and out.
the cd has been getting some good reviews. the ones we could find online are linked on the page with the cd info.
one that did not make it online was a negative review in stomp and stammer. pick up the september issue if you can find one. our review is hilarious.
highlights include:
"jarring, deafening, blood-curdling and at times nothing short of jaw dropping. I seriously doubt I'll ever listen to it again."
haha, jeff clark is scared of blame game. what a tool. he takes about twice as much space to review our cd than he does to review anything else. the argument is that rock music typically has a set pattern and in order to stand out in a crowd some musicians go about dismantling the pattern. "some acts choose to dispense with the blueprint altogether, opting for complex, atonal notes, abrupt tempo and volume changes, unstructured lyrics...in an attempt to fool the audience into believing they're more proficient, intelligent and cool than all that candyass pop shit. Which is sorta how prog-rock first came into being." we took that as a compliment. it's the best bad review we've ever gotten.
this from the same lame rag that gave us a bad review at a live show by describing alex as a "short circuited drum machine." we took that as a compliment as well.
so yeah in conclusion stomp and stammer does not understand progress. but read it if you want to laugh at aging rockers gripe about musicians helping progressive organizations and bands trying not to sound like other bands.

tuesday night in athens was great. not only did we get to play live in the lobby on wuog, but we also got to see SIDS for free!!! damn paying for them would be worth it.
so yeah we played live in the lobby on wuog 90.5. it was great. the sound was good and the ambience was good. i think the music was good as well. lots of people came and the studio was kinda packed. it made it feel a lot better than just playing away in a giant empty room with your amps all mic'd. thanks to all those that came out and made it feel more comfy and calmed our nerves. we got a cd of it. hopefully we'll burn some since it has all new songs on it. besides our demo this is the only place these songs are recorded. plus one is not on the demo. yippee.
SIDS is a mess. we mean that in the most sincere of good ways. when they play just everything goes to hell. there's this great music playing and it sounds awesome. then all these people start doing crazy things. wow! they actually play shows! these are just concerts, these are SHOWS! we got it all on tape. bug ian if you want a copy.
all in all a great athens experience. (that rarely happens for us).
later,
chris
where the hell did that phrase come from?
a note: killer rock from space kick ass.
gods among men kick booty.
electrosleep international kick serious gluteous maximus in the best way possible!
at the show we had some photos taken of us as well. look at us being goofy while the photographer tried to maintain his professionalism. (thanks drew for putting up with us)
remember kids on october 5th fuck blonde redhead and the liars cause they are way subpar these days. instead join the party with blame game and do make say think at the earl.

hey yo let's go. actually we're done going anywhere for a while. the trip to dc was Fun. (with a capital F) the fest was great. it was very cool to be in on the ground floor of something like this. hopefully we can make it an annual trip.
now we're playing shows in town again. yippee skippee! september 2nd at lenny's it's (insert monty python theme) gods among men (seattle), electrosleep international (they're international), killer rock from space (athens), blame game (cthulu's ass). come rock...please.
there are some reviews of the record trickling in. check them on the release page.
bye,
chris
